Instructors Stephan Berwick, founder of the TrueTaichi program, is an emerging 13th generation Chen Taijiquan specialist, widely recognized as an early proponent of mainland Chinese martial arts. An original disciple of Master Ren Guangyi since 1991 and also trained by top Chen family masters, Berwick completed primary research on Chen Taijiquan at Taiji’s birthplace, Chenjiagou in 2000. He was one of the first two Americans, with action-film star Donnie Yen, trained at the Sha’anxi Athletic Technical Institute in China under Zhao Changjun and Bai Wenxiang in 1987. Berwick was originally mentored by Master Bow Sim Mark and went on to become one of the first Western martial arts performers in Hong Kong action films under director, Yuen Wo Ping and Yen from 1988-89. Since 1996, he has authored dozens of authoritative articles on all aspects of martial arts and is the co-author of Taijiquan: 38 Form & Applications, Practical Tai Chi, Tai Chi for Kids, and Taijiquan Hand & Sword. Berwick currently teaches students from defense professionals to the physically challenged and in 2006 was the first Western Chen Taijiquan exponent profiled in a cover feature of a leading martial arts magazine - Journal of Asian Martial Arts - and has been profiled in Inside Kung Fu and Kung Fu Tai Chi magazines. |

| Neal DeGregorio has been practicing Chen Taijiquan for almost 8 years. His 44 years of martial arts includes a foundation in Judo & Jujitsu and spans Aikido, Capoeira, Gracie Jujitsu/MMA, Muay Thai, Pencak Silat, Savate, Tai Mantis, and Wing Chun. He practiced Yang Taijiquan for 17 years before discovering the original Chen Taiji and brings comprehensive skills as a grappler to his practice of Taijiquan. | |||||
| Dan Seeley has been practicing Chen Taijiquan for 7 years. Dan came to Chen Taiji as a 4th degree black belt in Shorin Ryu Karate. His 25 years of martial arts experience includes 10 years devoted to Karate, as well as wrestling and other traditional Japanese and Korean martial arts. As an experienced martial artist, Dan has served as an active duty Marine, Coast Guardsman, and is currently a Department of Defense professional. | |||||
| Henry Hsiang has been devoted to Chen Taijiquan since 1998. He was first introduced to Chen Taiji by Stephan Berwick, who encouraged him to study under Ren Guangyi for one year. He went on to become an active teacher of Chen Taiji in Hong Kong and has been studying under Berwick for 5 years. Henry has won numerous 1st place awards in advanced open-hand and weapons forms at national tournaments. His 28 years in martial arts includes studying Long Fist under Bow Sim Mark and,Yang Jwing-Ming, and Wing Chun in Hong Kong under one of Yip Man's early students. Henry is known for his explosive speed, which he actively displays at major Asian cultural events. | ![]() |

| Sean Vasaitis has been practicing Chen Taijiquan for 7 years. He has been quoted in the press on the health benefits of Taiji, as the Taiji instructor at the University of Maryland Center for Integrative Medicine. Sean holds a MS in Exercise & Health Science and a PhD in Pharmacology. He came to Chen Taiji as a Yang Taiji stylist, and has previously explored Jujitsu, Taekwondo, and Capoeira. Sean actively performs Taijiquan at cultural events solo and with Henry Hsiang. | |||||
